“Quand le réel fait irruption” [when reality bursts in]
Professional meeting co-designed by Sophie Mugnier and Céline Poulin in immersion at the Theater and at the CAC Brétigny.
Hosted by sound documentary maker Adila Bennedjaï-Zou.

 

The Théâtre Brétigny and the CAC Brétigny focus their respectives projets around the production of polymorphous works, pervious to context, blurring the frontiers of the esthetic realms and remodeling the roles of institutional actors. On the occasion of “La Beauté du geste's” week directed by Vincent Thomasset this year, several artists who collaborated in the past with the art center or the Théâtre Brétigny are invited to discuss around their practices at a public panel. This conversation is followed by a meal, a tour of “The Real Show” exhibit and a scenic performance by Lorenzo de Angelis. 

From the experiences developped in Brétigny, and with the help of guests from the human sciences, artists, professionnals and non-professionnals of the art world will explore this “quest for realness”, the shapes it can take, and the meaning it can carry among the creators of those works as well as those who collaborated in the pieces or those who receive it.

 

Program of the day: 

9:30am: Welcome of the participants within the exhibition “J'préfère quand c'est réel” of Safouane Ben Slama, in presence of the artiste and of the curator Camille Martin

10am—1pm: Open discussion around the usage of realness within visuals arts and performing arts with the guests, moderated by Adila Bennedjaï-Zou

1pm—2:30pm: Lunch

2:30pm—4pm: Tour of “The Real Show” exhibition with Clémence de Montgolfier and Céline Poulin

4pm:  La cavalière & les délices de crottins, performance by Lorenzo De Angelis beautifying the gestures of Lou Gay Cacciaguerra, distinguished horserider from our region.

Vincent Thomasset, choregrapher and stage director, maestro of the interlacing between gestures and words. 

Julie Desprairies, choregrapher, creator of in situ projects for architecture, cities, landscapes, inhabitants. 

Lydie Coubard, animator at the sociocultural center of Saint-Michel sur Orge and actor of La Foire des prairies.

Sylvain Duchêne, director of the cultural affairs of the Etampois Sud Essonne and performer of Continuité d'usage. 

Clémence de Montgolfier, artist and researcher, master of the art of dialog, member of The Big Conversation Space duo.

Camila Moreira Cesar, lecturer in information and communication sciences, speaker for The Talking Cure.

Safouane Ben Slama, artist, self-taught photographer, creator of links and stories through images
